Family Navigator

STEP Service Navigation seeks an individual to provide a holistic case management approach to individuals and families with multiple needs and assist them with setting goals to work toward obtaining and maintaining self-sufficiency; working in partnership with other STEP and community programs. This position is 24 hours a week and benefits eligible.

Requires bachelor’s degree in a social service field and/or equivalent experience, plus one year of casework experience. Current PA Act 33 Criminal, Child Abuse and FBI clearances are required.

Team Member Needed for STEP's Independent Living Pathway to Success

Lead Operator

The Transportation Lead Operator supervises assigned Shared-Ride Transportation Operators (Drivers) and assumes a leadership role in areas to include service evaluation, continuous quality improvement processes, and the development and mobilization of resources and assets for Program operation. In conjunction with the Transportation Manager, this position develops and implements programs and procedures that comply with federal and state regulations and agency policies. Provides trainings to all employees in the areas of safety, drug and alcohol, and security. Responds to personal injury and vehicle accidents to complete investigations and prepare reports. Maintains database tracking all aspects of Program including vehicle service records, inspection and registration dates, vehicle mileage, and driver assignments and licensure, and ensures vehicle compliance with applicable government regulations, laws, and safety standards. As needed, provides safe, efficient transportation, scheduling and dispatching services, and other tasks.

Requires associate degree in business management or administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in the transportation of goods, commodities or the general public, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrates required knowledge, skills and abilities. Also requires two years of work experience with shared-ride transportation functions, and demonstrated technological competence. PA Act 33 Criminal and Child Abuse Clearances are required.

Informational Assistant

This position provides extensive administrative, operational, information processing, and clerical support to STEP’s Early Learning Program. Duties involve supporting the Early Learning staff team with information/data management within a networked computer environment, including data entry, creation of spreadsheets and databases, analysis, tracking, record-keeping, reporting, file management, and a wide variety of day-to-day operational supports. Requires strong communication skills, a high school diploma or GED Certificate and one year’s experience in office work. Also requires demonstrable experience creating databases and spreadsheets, working with a wide variety of desktop productivity tools, and ability to type a minimum of 40 words per minute. PA Child Protective Services Law certifications are also required.

Comply with Head Start Performance Standards, the Head Start Act and other applicable regulations and laws. Adhere to early learning and family support principles. Position requires a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) in the Center-Based Setting or high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate and the willingness to obtain a CDA within two (2) years of hire, unless funding requires CDA upon employment; and, a minimum of one year of experience working with young children. Bilingual English-Spanish is desirable. PA Child Protective Services Law certifications are also required.

Complies with head Start Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, and other applicable regulations and laws. Adheres to early learning and family support principles. Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) in the Center-Based Setting or a high school diploma or GED certificate and willingness to obtain CDA with two (2) years of hire, unless funding requires CDA upon employment. AmeriCorps Members Needed
for STEP's
Community Collaboration Pathway to Success

STEP’s Community Connect AmeriCorps is currently recruiting members to begin service mid-to-late September. AmeriCorps is the national service program that provides thousands of Americans of all ages and backgrounds with education awards in exchange for a year of community service. Full-time members who complete their service earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $5,730 to pay for college, graduate school or vocational training at eligible institutions, pay back qualified student loans or if member is at least 55 years of age at beginning of service term, may transfer award to child, grandchild or foster child. AmeriCorps members receive a modest bi-weekly living allowance, student-loan forbearance, health coverage, and child care for those who qualify while participating.  Members who serve half-time receive a living allowance and a $2,865 education award. AmeriCorps is not employment.
