AmeriCorps Members Needed for STEP's Community Collaboration Pathway to Success
STEP’s Community Connect AmeriCorps is currently recruiting members to begin service mid-to-late September. AmeriCorps is the national service program that provides thousands of Americans of all ages and backgrounds with education awards in exchange for a year of community service.
Full-time members who complete their service earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $5,815 to pay for college, graduate school or vocational training at eligible institutions, pay back qualified student loans - or if member is at least 55 years of age at beginning of service term, may transfer award to child, grandchild or foster child. AmeriCorps members receive a modest bi-weekly living allowance, student-loan forbearance, health coverage, and child care for those who qualify while participating.
Members who serve half-time receive a living allowance and a $2,907.50 education award.
AmeriCorps is not employment.
