Professional Development
Since 2004, Pennsylvania has encouraged or required the Early Childhood Education (ECE) workforce to assess individual professional competencies and make ongoing professional development choices based on personal growth goals. Pennsylvania values continuous quality improvement and strives to align with national standards to the extent practicable, while continuing to address ECE workforce professional development needs.
Pennsylvania’s Professional Standards and Competencies for Early Childhood Educators
Using the PD Registry Early Learning and School-Age Professionals can:
- Track employment, education, and training history.
- Complete their professional development plan by using an easy to use self-assessment tool.
- Find statewide, regional, and online quality professional training opportunities.
