Cassidy Lutz | Salvation Army / Community Gardens

AmeriCorps members are at the heart of the impact we make in the community, and this month we are proud to highlight Cassidy Lutz, whose dedication and talents have been a tremendous asset to his host site.

Cassidy Lutz – Salvation Army / Community Gardens
Cassidy is a student at Lycoming College majoring in Environmental Science. At the Community Gardens, Cassidy’s role is diverse and impactful. With his strong organization skills, he helps create systems for managing inventory and garden operations, assists with volunteer recruitment and coordination, and provides both community and youth education programming. In addition, he supports the daily management of the garden (planting, weeding, watering, rototilling, edging, mulching, and harvesting), Cassidy also performs daily monitoring of the rain gauge, field data, and watering system check ensuring it remains a productive and welcoming space for all. His efforts promote environmental stewardship, healthy living, and community connection.

Cassidy has proven to be an invaluable member of their team, bringing unique skills, fresh perspectives, and a commitment to making a difference. His contributions embody the spirit of AmeriCorps service — fostering growth, creativity, and resilience in the communities they serve.
