Laurel Cowher stepped into the Director position at STEP Head Start in November, bringing 27 years of early childhood education experience to the job, 15 of those years spent at STEP Head Start. During her career at STEP Laurel has held various leadership roles in the Early Learning Pathway, including STEP Head Start Center-Based Manager and Deputy Director of Education.
Outgoing director Carolyn Hawk is stepping down after more than seven years in the organization, assuming the role of President & CEO at the United Way of North Central Pennsylvania. Carolyn moves into this opportunity with over 25 years of volunteer service with the United Way and decades of early care and education experience. We are so excited to see Carolyn's impact on the children and families of our region, and we look forward to continuing to work with her in her new role!
