What Help is Available?

STEP has over 30 programs and services. For those affected financially by COVID-19, and for those navigating social services for the first time, the following may be of special interest:

  • STEP Service Navigation. If you are not sure if STEP can help you, or are not sure what resources are available in the community, please contact STEP at 570.326.0587 or via email and we will help you navigate what may be out there for you. You can complete our General Registration form and Service Assessment Questionnaire in order to receive referrals to both STEP programs and others in the community based on your needs.

  • STEP Utilities Assistance Program. The PPL OnTrack and Operation HELP application can be completed at pplelectric.com/ontrack. More information on the UGI CAP program can be found here. Utilities inquiries can be directed to STEP at 570.326.0587.

  • Emergency Rental Assistance Program. The Emergency Rental Assistance Program can help you with rental and utility arrearages. Head here to complete an application online, and have your landlord complete their portion from the same page.

  • Supportive Housing Program. The Supportive Housing Program (SHP) is focused on helping individuals avoid foreclosure or eviction. Eligible customers do not have an eviction notice or outstanding judgments, do have household income, and have lived in Lycoming County for the last 12 months or most of the last two years. Further eligibility criteria apply; you can read more here or call STEP for details.

  • You can also dial 211 or visit 211 online for more referrals.
